Sounds a little odd to text message to a land line, don’t it? You’re probably asking yourself ‘how the hell the message is displayed on a land line phone’. Then you think that most phones these days have LCDs that can probably show it. Actually, its a lot cooler then that, and according to the guys over at Gadgetsonthego.net, you can send a text message to a land line where it is then converted into voice message. The receiver can respond using pre-canned messages. An interesting concepts, but I doubt it will take with the mass text messaging population, but might be good for the young daughter who wants to notify the parents she is gonna be home late from the party. The service is only available on Sprint and is currently in its trial period until January 31, 2006.

My sister is very hard of hearing, and hubby won’t let her have a cell phone. Text messaging to a land line would be so helpful. Any hope for that?
