Intel has developed a technology that enables a Notebook computer to almost instantaneously startup. Notebooks lacking the technology called Robson, take many more seconds to boot up. According to Intel the speedy up time is accomplished through the use of NAND flash memory. Instead of booting up via the hard drive and going through the timely process of spinning a disc, the computer simply accesses the flash memory. In addition to a speedier load and start time, you also get better battery life because there is no spinning hard drive disc.
In tests the Robson adorned computer opened Adobe Reader in 0.4 seconds, while a notebook without the Robson technology, and same specs, took 5.4 seconds.
