Google bids to offer free Wi-Fi in San Francisco

In response to San Francisco’s Mayor Gavin Newsom, Google put in a bid to offer free wireless internet access to the entire city of San Francisco. Whether they are at home, in a park, or at a cafe — they will have internet access.
The mayor’s request made last year was that someone would offer inexpensive for free city-wide Wi-Fi to bring the Internet to everyone, especially the poor.
In response, Google has proposed a bid to offer free WiFi to the city. Their plan included speed of 300 kilobits per second, 30 WiFi antennas per square mile, and of course no charge.
While there’s no guarantee Google will win the bid, even with their name, they are offering an impressive proposal. All of this, will only fuel rumors that Google is going to offer free WiFi access throughout the world.
I can’t wait till they reach Fort Lauderdale. I’m pretty sick of paying for broadband for both my company and myself. Free is so much better.
