Canon released its first fuel cell hydrogen powered camera at a Japanese expo last week. Canon plans to release fuel cells for portable devices, and perhaps larger devices, such as printers.
Currently the fuel cells offer the same power as a lithium ion battery, but Canon says it will continue to improve the technology. A few other companies are in the race to bring this new battery technology to market. We recently saw Toshiba showing off their new alternative fuel.
