Toshiba recently launched an ultra light weight notebook weighing less then 1000 grams (just about 2 pounds). The notebook is currently available in the United Arab of Emirates and will be featured at GITEX 2005.
The notebook was launched by Al-Futtaim Technologies and is called the ‘libretto U100′. The notebook is designed to suit the needs of executives who require not only mobility, but security and power. Security is enhanced by our friend biometrics, otherwise known as finger print security. Finger print security for notebooks and desktop computers is not new to the consumer electronics space, but has yet to hit the ‘tipping point’.
The screen is a TruBrite 7.2-inch wide LCD screen, which apparently delivers fantastic colors and contrast. The battery life of the device is 4.5 hours, and features a docking station to allow DVD/CD access.
