Motorola iTunes Phone – The ROKR
The Motorola ROKR E1 (pronounced like it rhymes with soccer) was oficially released today. The phone is exclusive to Cingular (no big shock) and will cost $249.99 with a 2 year conract. This phone is the first mobile phone to be integrated with Apple’s iTunes. What’s that mean? You’ll basically be carrying around the first iPod / phone combo with up to 100 songs transferred from your PC or MAC.
As far as the phone goes, it looks like a pretty standard Motorola phone. You’ll have good battery life with 6.5 hours of talk time, a camera with flash, video recording and playback, integrated Bluetooth, and stereo speakers.
The big appeal here of course is you get to use mp3′s for your ringtones. That or the whole convergence thing. No, definitely the ringtones. Finally everyone around me can hear Gwen Stefani spell out B A N A N A S in high quality stereo.
