  1. Hi,
I think I have fixed the problem of the Disney mix stick not being recognized by thecomputer, or Win Media Player.
I had the same problem for about 8 months now and today I thought I would give it another chance and what I did worked.
First, I put the mix stick into my USB port
Then I went to c:\programs\Disney\Mix stick and there was a file called stupdaterapp, Disney Mix Stick Firmware Download Disney, I doubled clicked that and it started downloading, it was the same ver. firmware I already had but I clicked ok anyway, then when it asks you if you want to Format click yes.
When it finished I went to windows explore and the disney mix stick would let me drag and drop new music files on it and when I took it out, after ejecting it, the mix stick worked, it plays music again, I thanked God, I was about ready to just throw it away because it would not work at all it just flashed that light it has on it, and my computer did not recognize it at all, but after this it works and my grandaughter was so happy !
Please, if this works pass this fix on to everyone, there are alot of people out there with the same problem and maybe this will help them, there is no way I could go to every web site and post this.
Good Luck & God Bless !
P.S. Let me know if this helped anyone! my e-mail address is bevstutts@charter.net.

  2. My daughter is 6 and she has no problems with it, And she is rough with her stuff. But no matter how many times she drops it, it still works fine. Also, it’s very easy to use. We have a Mac and she can easily just drag and drop all her favourite songs into her player, no help from mommy. ;)

  3. I just want to say thank you for taking the time & effort for put this web page together! Visit my sites, please:

  4. I have seen a green one with dixie the fairy on it….I wish they had more memory, like 4 gb…1 GB is so prehistoric now a days

  5. Likely to be the same as those cheap S1MP3 players from china that are so common nowadays, and yes, eventually stop working, become unreadable or unerasable.

DagRiggs, there’s an S1MP3 hacking guide to re-format and rescue these things for a while. I just don’t remember where it is but i’ll show up if you google it. That will fix iT, but you’re probably going to have to see the guts of the thing to ascertain the type of memory it uses.

Frankly, it’s not worth the repair price. Get a Zen Micro instead.

Oh, bother, I have had 2 of these for the 6 months One sat in a drawer and did not get used but the other gets used alot. The one we use will no longer show the icon on the computer screen and will only play songs from the added memory card. It worked as it should for a couple weeks flawlessly working with my Apple iBook and iTunes. I did not read the instructions, I did not have to install anything. I just tore it from the package and plugged it into the USB and it showed up automatically on the desktop. I added a memory card I had laying around and it worked flawless as well.
But a couple weeks later the icon for the mp3 no longer shows up. All the music plays but the songs on the Disney player can not be deleted. Now the one from the drawer is doing the same thing. I have returned them and bought new but after a month each quits showing on the desktop. Disney gives no support that I can find.

Our iPod did have some probs and we were able to hard reset and Apple exchanged one. I suppose Disney will do the same? I have not contacted them yet. First I will read the instructions for a hard reset.

  10. This new mp3 player created by disney is plainly highlighting their obvious money problems, its a known fact that they are deep in the red, much like the xbox devision of microsoft. This new device simply cannot compete with the big boys of the personal music market

  11. I dont see other colors on the disney site, but you never know with newer versions alway arriving. I thought i did see a pink version floating around, but that might have been a mockup of some sort.
