Nerds of the world rejoice! Sona Mobile and Viacom Consumer Products are set to offer a Star Trek communicator-themed mobile device that will let users make calls, play video clips, play online Star Trek games and surf the internet.

This is the first use of the license by Viacom, which owns the right to the Star Trek television show and movie franchise, for a phone. While Viacom and Sona are still finalizing the look and features of the communicator-style phone, fans can be sure the device will chirp and beep with ringtones that mimic the sound effects from the show.

The phone is due out September 30th and is tied to the 40th anniversary of the show.
